Spiced White Sangria

The holidays are over and 2019 is here but that doesn’t mean we stop celebrating. If you’re hosting a cozy dinner party or just in need of something different than your bar cart cocktail, sangria is the perfect way to entertain without taking too long to refresh guests’ beverages. Enjoy the party, grab a glass and cheers to the New Year!

Spiced White Sangria:

  • 1 bottle of Pinot Grigio (I picked up Grifone’s organic option at Trader Joe’s)

  • 1/2 cup of Calvados, this apple brandy will add more depth of flavor

  • 1 tangerine, sliced & quartered

  • 1 large granny smith apple, diced

  • 1 pear, sliced into eighths

  • 1 star of anise

  • 1 tablespoon of whole cloves

  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cardamom

  • 6 large or 8 thinner sticks of cinnamon

  • Ginger Brew to finish (I used Trader Joe’s Triple Ginger Brew)

  1. Pour wine and brandy into a 64 oz mason jar or large punch bowl if serving day of

  2. Put all of the cut fruits and spices into the liquid and stir to incorporate

  3. Put jar or covered bowl in the fridge for a minimum of 4 hours, up-to overnight

  4. If in a 64 oz mason jar fill the rest of it with ginger brew, if in a punch bowl add a minimum of 16 oz to the mixture or top each cocktail off with 1 oz

  5. Serve with or without ice and garnish with sangria fruit
